We are located in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, halfway between Richmond VA. and Raleigh NC.  We are part of Tar River District, East Carolina Council.

Hello and Welcome to Troop 146's Website!  Alright guys, this website is a good way for you all to know whats going on, so make sure you look at it a lot.  I will try to keep it updated as much as possible.  We now have many interesting things on the website including rosters, ways to contact the leaders, and their are even some forms on here now.  So sit down, look around, and if you have any ideas or questions, e-mail me.

This month is the official pulp and paper month!!! The month will be devoted to learning all about the process of making paper to help earn the pulp and paper merit badge. I hope that everyone makes the extra effort to participate this month, because by the end of the month, everyone who toured the paper mill will have completed pulp and paper merit badge. For anyone who did not go on the tour with the troop, there will be another chance later on...come to the meetings and talk to Ronnie Spence for more information.

I think that we need to put something on recent Eagle Scouts on the Troop Webpage.  Normally this award is, in itself, an amazing accomplishment and something that should be held with the highest esteem.  Our troop had the honor of giving out another type of Eagle Scout Award recently.  At out Court of Honor, we presented the Spirit of the Eagle Award to Brian's parents.  This award is dedicated to the loving memory of Brian's scouting spirit and accomplishments.  We should all take the time whenever we can to remember Brian and all he did for the troop and for the world.

Meetings are held every Tuesday night at Troop 146 Scouthut on the corner of Jefferson and 8th St. from 7:00-8:30p.m.

Camping Trip- The next campout that the troop is taking has been scheduled for December 14-16.  While the location is not set in stone, the current plan is for the troop to go to Medoc Mountain State Park again.  Just a reminder to all troop members, if we go back to Medoc Mountain and use the group site again, it will cost the troop $40 a night...a total of $80.  The cost of this will be split between everyone attending the trip, and theyre will also be a food price as always.  If anyone is interested in seeing pictures from previous troop trips Check out the pictures section of the website!

CAMP MORATOCK
The troop will no longer be allowed to use camp moratock because it has been sold to the national parks system and they will be doing work to it. The leaders are working diligently to locate a new camp ground for the troop to use, in the mean time, just hang tight guys, we will be camping again very soon!!!
