ALL CLOTHES SHOULD BE NON-COTTON & CARRIED IN ZIPLOC BAGS




























-Pack and frame - minimum size = 4,000 cubic inches
-0 degree sleeping bag in waterproof stuff sack
-Sleeping pad
-Ground cloth, unless using tent
-Hiking boots that have good ankle support (H2O proof or treated)
-Rain-gear large enough to fit over all your layers of clothing combined
(Poncho not recommended)
 
(The following list includes clothes being worn on trip)
-Light jacket (Ideal = Polartec 200 or nylon windbreaker with synthetic lining)
-Medium heavy coat (Ideal = lightweight with thick synthetic lining)
-2 tee shirts (Ideal = Coolmax or similar synthetic)
-2 sets light or medium weight, non-cotton wicking long underwear
-2 pairs long pants, non-cotton, but lightweight
-2 pairs undershorts (more can be carried at your discretion) non-cotton
-Minimum of 4 pairs of socks (wool or non-cotton wicking) all must fit your boots
-Liner socks, optional (must be synthetic material)
-Toboggan
-Hat
-Gloves or mittens
-Light shoes, or wet shoes
-Small flashlight with new & extra batteries
-Whistle - Must be carried at all times
-Identification - waterproofed and must be carried at all times





-Sharp folding pocket knife
-Water bottle (to drink from - should be easily accessible)
-1/2 gallon or 3 - one liter bottles
-Eating spoon (metal tablespoon)
-Bowl (lightweight)
-Thermal mug (12 oz. size - mark to measure cooking water)
-Candle (small stub to help start campfire in an emergency)
-Two 50 feet of cord (3mm or 1/8 inch)
-3 or 4 large heavy duty trash bags (must be large enough to fit over your pack
-Matches in waterproof container (packed in several zip-lock bags)
-Bug repellent - non aerosol
-Biodegradable soap
-Compass
-Walking Stick
-Toilet paper (what you need for a week)
-Toothbrush & toothpaste (small tube)
-Handtowel
-First Aid kit (Bandaids, moleskin, first aid cream, aspirin, or personal medication)
-Sunglasses
-Shorts (that can be used as a bathing suit)
-Sunblock (high SPF factor)
-Chapstick
